Personal injury lawsuit accuses lodge of negligence

People in New York and across the country often choose to visit lodges and other commercial properties with their families. While on such trips, they expect that those who run the lodge will take measures to ensure that they are safe from injury. Unfortunately, one out-of-state woman has recently filed a personal injury lawsuit against a lodge with an indoor water park, claiming that negligence on the part of the defendants resulted in a serious injury.

According to court papers, the woman and her family were at the lodge as business invitees. She and one of her children were allegedly on a water slide attraction when she says she was thrown off the float. Court papers claim that the woman struck the slide with extreme force even though she claims she followed all instructions provided by the facility and personnel in regards to personal safety.

Unfortunately, the woman reportedly suffered a severe injury as a result of the incident. As a result, she has experienced extreme pain and has been unable to complete her normal activities. Additionally, she has undergone extensive medical treatments resulting in expenses. The lawsuit request $1 million for the woman and $125,000 for her husband. They have accused the facility of negligence, specifically claiming that the defendants should have known that the ride was defective.

Businesses have a certain responsibility to protect those who are legally on their property. Failure to ensure that property conditions are safe, for example, can result in a serious personal injury that could affect people for the rest of their lives. In some cases, filing a civil suit may be the only way to hold a business responsible for its negligence. An attorney with experience with such cases can help people in New York injured in such a manner pursue appropriate damages.
