Several suffer personal injury in New York collision

The vast majority of drivers on New York roadways are safe and committed to driving defensively. Unfortunately, an accident can happen so quickly that even the safest of drivers cannot respond in time. A recent crash on Interstate 81 recently resulted in personal injury to several people and likely remains under investigation.

The crash occurred one morning on a day in early July. According to reports, a box truck was northbound on a New York interstate when it allegedly jumped the guardrail. Reports indicate that the truck ended up in oncoming traffic.

Once in the southbound lanes, the truck reportedly collided with a van. A police officer with knowledge of the accident said that four people were in the van. While the extent of the injuries suffered is unclear, the officer reports that there were several people injured. It is also unclear what caused the accident and if criminal charges are anticipated.

Unfortunately, those involved in a car accident such as this often suffer severe injuries that require a long period of recovery and extensive medical interventions. In addition to medical bills, lost wages can often complicate victims' financial situation. To help with these expenses, many in New York choose to file a personal injury lawsuit. A successfully presented claim could result in a financial award that will help car crash victims fulfill their financial obligations and receive the medical attention they need. An attorney with experience with such cases can help these victims fully understand their legal options and take appropriate action.
